Earthquake effect on our pendulums

We live in the Ring of Fire, part of the North Pacific where volcanoes and earthquakes are quite common.

The other day we had a small 5.3 to 5.9 earthquake.

It was the third time we noticed one in the past 5 years.

And each time  we noticed them, it was either because the grandfather clock's pendulum was moving from front to back or (when over 4.5) the weights `themselves start to move.
